Start with the measured surface area and the selected paver dimensions. Make sure the dimensions describe the piece being purchased rather than a photograph or marketing label. The calculation compares surface area with nominal piece area and adds your stated allowance, then rounds upward to whole pieces. It does not account for every joint, mixed-size pattern, cut or carton requirement.
Agree the allowance before ordering
A layout with diagonal cuts, curved borders or patterned modules can need a different purchasing approach from a simple rectangle. Choose the allowance with the installer and review whether spare repair pieces are included. Convert the result to the supplier’s actual packaging and confirm the final order with the layout drawing. The tool does not select a universal waste percentage or guarantee that the rounded estimate is sufficient.
